Gas Turbine Technician | Qatar

Description
Responsibilities:
Provide Solar Titan 130 turbine expertise for an offshore oil platform. This is an offshore rotational position 28 days on X 28 days off.
Applicant must have specific mechanical, instrument, electrical and control system knowledge of Titan 130 turbines and is capable of the following: -
Perform exchanges of complete engines, gear boxes, generators, and compressors.
Perform blade changes on the turbine.
Familiar with and capable of using Laser Alignment and Dial indicators where required.
During the biannual maintenance perform all or any of the following tasks:
Calibration of all switches and transmitters and verification of correct readings in PLC and calibration
Replacement of failed transmitters or switches as needed.
Test all devices in the fire and gas system. Verify the fire system is registering the proper signals by simulating extreme heat, UV rays, and high methane gas concentration in the package. If any of those devices cannot be calibrated or fail, replace them.
Inspection of the Engine and Gear Box with a 6mm or 4mm borescope. Recommend action based on results.
Run a Vibration Survey using Bently-Nevada tools. Interpretation of the data with a report with resulting Spectrums or Bode Plots that justify inquiries to engineering. Exchanging filters throughout the package.
Responsible for Lockout-tagout activities of all power and fuel sources during maintenance procedures
Provide team leadership during multi-discipline maintenance tasks.

Responsible for project management including, but not limited to, routine project updates and forecasts, project cost control, maintaining project documentation and the project database, and project close-out and archive.
Communicates the design and technical issues to technical and non-technical functions through reports, memos, design documents, and presentations in a manner that is concise, factual and effective. Trains, directs, and reviews the work of lower level technical staff.
