CONSOLE OPERATOR
Skills
Functional Responsibilities:
1. Visit the assigned unit area(s), review performance and
attend OME daily meetings. Provide OME team with the necessary support to
maintain high level of safety performance and comply with health, safety and
environmental standards.
2. Continuously monitor and control the process variables to
meet production plan/specifications and operate the plant safely, reliably and
efficiently.
3. Respond to all process alarms and take immediate
corrective actions to resolve the alarms.
4. Monitor online analyzer data and review laboratory
analysis to ensure meeting product specifications and take corrective actions
as needed.
5. Respond to any emergency situation in accordance with
standard procedures and/or instructions from the Shift Supervisor.
6. Provide direction to Field Operators as necessary to meet
production plan/specifications.
7. Monitor and alter status of remote start/stop equipment
in accordance with the standing orders and day-to-day instructions and control
interlock status in accordance with the Company procedures.
8. Report all information relating to the operation of the
plant during the shift to the Shift Supervisor.
9. Identify, plan and implement work process improvement
opportunities.
10. Maintain a record of information such as computer
operating time, problems that occurred, and actions taken.
11. In-charge of keeping all hardware such as ESD button and
DCS console in good operating conditions.
12. Perform and direct safe and efficient shutdowns and
start-up of assigned units in accordance with the standard procedures.
13. Fully comprehend and adhere to relevant safety and
environmental policies and procedures.
14. Perform other job-related duties as requested by the
Area Operations Shift Supervisor.
Education

Skills
1. Perform the day-to-day work in order to increase refinery
profit, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote safety &
compliance to environmental standards.
2. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and retain
laboratory equipment in good condition.
3. Conduct standard run checks to ensure instruments’
accuracy and reliability.
4. Report out-of-order and out-of-calibration instruments to
the direct supervisor in a timely manner.
5. Conduct verification procedures on samples and accept or
reject the sample accordingly.
6. Conduct sample analysis as per approved procedures (i.e.
ASTM or other international reference analysis methods).
7. Report test results in an accurate and timely fashion
through established reporting protocols and discuss abnormal results with the
direct supervisor.
8. Handle sample management ensuring adequate quantity and
storage as per YASREF’s laboratory policies and working procedures.
9. Ensure that all chemicals and reagents containers are
correctly labelled per HAZCOM guidelines.
10. Observe and communicate unsafe actions, work conditions,
and incidents to the direct supervisor.
11. Use and complete all the required Raw Data Sheets for
finish products and approve it by the shift Control Man (SCM).
12. Ensure compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets
(MSDS) to effectively and safely handle chemicals.
13. Comply with relevant safety and environmental standards
especially upon waste disposal and effectively respond to emergencies per
YASREF emergency response plan.
14. Provide the necessary support to the respective OME team
member before/after daily meetings to ensure high level of safety performance
and comply with health, safety and environmental standards.

Skills
1. Conduct standard run checks to ensure instruments’

Functional Responsibilities:
1. Ensure day-to-day work is performed effectively,
efficiently, and safely in order to increase refinery profit, enhance plant

2. Participate in the development and implementation of
YASREF’s laboratory standards, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment
with YASREF strategy and objectives as well as industry standards and
regulations.
3. Liaise with internal and external parties at the
appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of processes.
4. Supervise and control sampling operations to ensure
duties are performed on a timely basis and are compliant with all
specifications and standards.
5. Guide supervisors to ensure that operation of sections
are accurate, efficient and responsive to any changing business or emergency
needs.
6. Control water quality by regular testing to ensure water
specifications are compliant with YASREF’s and international standards.
7. Control all testing of ambient air quality and
composition to ensure YASREF community and employees are not exposed to harmful
gases.
8. Oversee testing and random sampling of surrounding
environment to ensure no harmful substances affect YASREF’s community.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or
Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
