Unconventional Resources Engineering and Project Management
Duties & Responsibilities Assigned as Project Manager:
A. Perform all management functions of the Division level.
B. Develop the project proposal and obtain approval.
C. Coordinate cost estimation, the preparation of AFEs and
ERs.
D. Coordinate subordinate personnel in controlling the
value, cost and time of the project.
E. Coordinate the staffing of the project team, which will
vary over the time of the project.
F. Negotiate arrangements for design with an Engineering
consultant. Establish Saudi Aramco team on site at consultant’s offices. He
will remain onsite during the design and material procurement phase.
G. Coordinate the preparation of documentation for the
bidding of construction. Participate in the selection process and recommend a
contractor.
H. Coordinate the construction, startup and commissioning of
the facility.
I. Approve contract variations and payments within limits of
his authority or endorse and forward to higher authority.
J. Guide and direct his subordinates in the application of
Saudi Aramco standards. Assure that variances from standards are minimized.
K. Prepare a monthly report showing the status of design,
material procurement, construction, milestones, AFE commitments, payments,
charges, variances from standards, waivers and problems.
L. Anticipate and plan for changes in project scope, timing
or costs. Prepare documentation and obtain management approval.
M. Present reports and project updates to management.

Sr Project Engineer, Unconventional Gas Projects
Duties & Responsibilities A. Perform all supervisory duties common to the Unit
level as established by management.
B. Supervise and coordinate preparation of the project
proposal, including development and analysis of alternates.
C. Present or participate in presenting the project proposal
to proponents and other interested organizations at technical meetings and
following resolution of problems secure project proposal approvals.
D. Coordinate the preparation of contracts, technical
information and other information required for the award of design, project
management and construction contracts.
E. Supervise and coordinate overall planning, control and
appraisal of the project as defined by the approved scope.
F. Ensure that designs meet the Unconventional Resources
standards and specifications and that alternate designs or changes are
economical, operable and meet safety, maintenance and schedule requirements.
G. Responsible for compliance to project controls and
administration guidelines/procedures, including those related to cost control
and forecasting, planning and scheduling, contract administration and materials
control, during project execution.
H. Responsible for maintaining project records, including
drawings, specifications, logs, financial reports and project correspondence.
I. Approve contract payment and variations within limits of
his authority; endorse and forward to higher authority.
J. Supervise and coordinate planning to adjust to
unanticipated changes in scope, materials and equipment delivery and cost.
K. Provide administrative guidance to his assigned
engineers, draft job appraisals, recommend merit increases and promotions and
handle routine personnel functions.
L. Will relieve the project manager or act in lieu of
project manager, as required.

Engineering Consultant – Unconventional
Duties & Responsibilities 1. Provides expert advice and assistance to the
Unconventional Resources organization, outside vendors, manufacturers and
design firms on matters relating to his/her area of expertise
2. Originates and carries out engineering studies to
determine potential problems and remedies to existing problems to resolve
complex technical problems, increase revenue, optimize processes, protect the
environment or improve safety.
3. Develops and maintains the engineering standards for
unconventional resources and design best practices, design manuals or other
documentation to enhance company profitability, safety and productivity.
4. Evaluates and introduces best practices and new
technologies from all over the world to help the Unconventional Resources
organization achieve best-in-class positions.
5. Reviews and evaluates the capabilities of vendors and
contractors to determine their acceptability to perform major services for
Unconventional Resources. Acts as the department representative in dealings
with vendors and manufacturers pertaining to his/her field of experience.
6. Works on or with task forces assigned to investigate incidents
or solve specific problems. Performs cost analyses and value engineering
studies as appropriate. Undertakes special assignments requiring extensive
technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.
7. Conducts seminars in the resolution of technical problems
with personnel in other engineering organizations. Writes papers for
peer-reviewed journals on engineering studies and projects he/she has overseen.
8. Acts as a professional mentor to less senior specialists

Cost Engineer I – Unconventional Resources
Duties & Responsibilities A. Provides all cost engineering expertise and
coordinates activities as group/unit leader as required. B. Responsible for
preparation of cost portion of the engineering, procurement and construction
contracts.
C. Collects, monitors, analyzes and reports all cost
information through the Project Manager.
D. Reviews and analyzes all claims and Change Orders on
project contracts.
E. Participates in the negotiation of project contracts as
required.
F. Initiates appropriate action when total forecast
indicates allocated funds will be exceeded.

Civil Engineer - (PROJECTS)
Duties & Responsibilities Required to perform the following:
• Providing civil engineering support to projects during
FEED, detailed engineering and construction phases.
• Involved in concept development, definition of project
scope, foundation plans, material selection, calculations, economic and
technical feasibility assessment of projects, technology assessment, evaluation
of alternative configurations to maximize profits, and the review of project
specifications.
• Execute capital projects according to the scope, schedule
and budget.
• Take responsibility for project development from
preliminary engineering to detail designs to construction and the final safe

Project Engineer – Estimating
Duties & Responsibilities - Required to prepare detailed estimates for various
types of projects, including but not limited to multi-billion dollar oil and
gas projects.
- Develop MTOs and/or verify MTOs, equipment and bulk
quantities against P&IDs and drawings.
- Prepare multi-discipline conceptual, detailed and
definitive cost estimates for Company Capital Projects and will review
estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with the defined
scope of work.
- Interface with multiple organizations to review and
discuss project scope and estimate basis and consult on company estimating
methods/procedures.
- Provide technical support in the review of design packages
and drawings and assist Project Management and contracting personnel with bid

Cost Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities - Provide input and recommendations for cost
engineering requirements relative to staffing, project controls, and preparing
and analyzing comparisons of scope, quantities and cost data between the
project forecasts and the budgets.
- Organize, monitor and control project costs and will
define project needs for cost control in accordance with contractual
requirements, objectives and Company procedures.
- Ensure that all project commitments are accurately
reported and will maintain updated final project and expenditure forecasts.
- Advice management regarding forecasted costs overruns of
approved budgets and recommends corrective actions.
- Assist Project Engineers in contractual cost compliance
during negotiations of scope changes.
- Must be able to use statistical tools to analyze costs
metrics and perform risk analysis.
